Kaiu Shirai & Posuka Demizu

白井カイウ & 出水ぽすか

Kaiu Shirai (story) and Posuka Demizu (art) are the duo behind The Promised Neverland (2016–2020), a dark-fantasy thriller unlike anything else in Weekly Shōnen Jump: Emma, Norman and Ray discover the terrible truth about the idyllic orphanage where they grew up and plan an impossible escape. Shirai's tightly plotted mysteries met Demizu's storybook-like illustration, honed as an illustrator before manga. The series won the 63rd Shogakukan Manga Award, was adapted into an anime in 2019 and into a live-action film in 2020.
