What is Weekly Shōnen Jump?

Weekly Shōnen Jump (週刊少年ジャンプ) is a Japanese manga magazine published weekly by Shueisha since 1968. It is one of the best-selling manga magazines in history, reaching over 6 million weekly copies at its peak in the 90s.

What data is available?

For each issue we have the original cover, publication date, series index and editorial trivia. Data is available in English with Spanish also supported.

How is the on-sale date calculated?

Every issue of Weekly Shōnen Jump has two dates: the on-sale date (when it actually hit newsstands) and the cover date (printed on the cover, typically ~2 weeks later — a retailer pull date indicating when unsold copies should be removed).

AnniversaryJump uses the actual on-sale date to find your issue, so the result truly reflects what was on shelves the day you were born. The cover date is shown alongside for reference.

On-sale dates come from Comic Vine's store_date field, which is available for 2,838 of the 2,839 issues in our database. For the remaining issue, we fall back to cover date minus 13 days.
