What it is about

Hōshin Engi debuted in Weekly Shōnen Jump issue 1404 on June 11, 1996, and ran until 2000. Created by Ryu Fujisaki, it is a free adaptation of the Chinese classic Investiture of the Gods: Taikōbō, a lazy but cunning Taoist from Mount Kunlun, is sent to the human world to seal away evil immortals and bring down Dakki, the fox spirit who controls the emperor of the Yin dynasty. The fantasy series was collected in 23 volumes (204 chapters) and adapted into an anime in 1999 and again in 2018. Its debut issue also carried Kochikame, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure and Rokudenashi Blues.
