Yusuke Murata is widely considered one of the greatest manga artists alive, celebrated for his explosive action sequences and photographic precision.
He drew Eyeshield 21 for WSJ alongside writer Riichiro Inagaki. Since 2012 he has been illustrating One Punch Man in Tonari no Young Jump — the official manga version of the webcomic by ONE, an anonymous manga artist whose self-published story about an overpowered hero went viral online. Murata redrew the entire story from scratch with his signature cinematic art style.

Eyeshield 21 debuted in Weekly Shōnen Jump No. 34 · 2002, on sale July 22, 2002. That same issue also carried Kochikame, One Piece and Naruto. Its last chapter in the magazine, number 333, ran in No. 29 · 2009 (June 15, 2009), after almost 7 years of serialization.
