Daisuke Ashihara is the creator of World Trigger, which began in Weekly Shōnen Jump in 2013: in Mikado City, the Border agency defends humanity from the Neighbors, invaders who arrive through gates from other worlds, and the timid Osamu Mikumo teams up with Yuma Kuga, a Neighbor himself. Praised for its tactical, team-based battles, it was adapted into an anime in 2014 and returned in 2021. After a break for health reasons in 2018, the series moved to the monthly Jump SQ.
