What it is about
The Elusive Samurai (Nige Jōzu no Wakagimi) debuted in Weekly Shōnen Jump issue 2586 on January 25, 2021, and ran until February 2026. Created by Yusei Matsui (Assassination Classroom), it is set in 1333, when the Kamakura shogunate falls after Ashikaga Takauji's betrayal: Hōjō Tokiyuki, the young heir of the ruling clan, survives thanks to his one great talent — running away — and sets out to take back his country without ever fighting head-on. The historical action series was collected in 27 volumes (238 chapters) and adapted into an anime in July 2024. Its debut issue also carried My Hero Academia, Black Clover and Me and Roboco.
